Cobalt details
Cobalt is a chemical element with the symbol Co and atomic number 27. It is a hard, lustrous, silver-gray metal that belongs to the transition metals group. Cobalt is found naturally in the Earth's crust and is primarily obtained as a byproduct of nickel and copper mining. Cobalt has a variety of uses and applications. One of its main uses is in the production of rechargeable batteries, particularly lithium-ion batteries. These batteries are commonly used in electronic devices such as smartphones, laptops, and electric vehicles. Cobalt's high energy density and stability make it an essential component in these batteries.
Gold details
Gold is a chemical element with the symbol Au and atomic number 79. It is a dense, lustrous, yellow precious metal that is highly malleable and ductile . Gold is one of the least reactive chemical elements, making it resistant to corrosion and tarnish . It is also a good conductor of electricity and heat . Gold has been used for various purposes throughout history, such as in jewelry, currency, and electronics . The metal is also used in dentistry and medicine . In 2020, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that gold was produced in 12 states at more than 40 lode mines, at several large placer mines in Alaska, and numerous smaller placer mines (mostly in Alaska and in the Western States) .
Copper details
Copper is a chemical element with the symbol Cu and atomic number 29. It is a reddish, extremely ductile metal that is an excellent conductor of electricity and heat . Copper is commercially produced mainly by smelting . Here is a summary of copper's properties and uses:
